Apple  Sausage  Appetizers

 

 

 

 

INGREDIENTS:

1 small onion, chopped

  1 1/2 teaspoons butter

2 tablespoons apple jelly

2 tablespoons brown sugar

8 ounces miniature smoked sausage links

1 small apple, peeled and sliced

3/4 teaspoon cornstarch

1 1/2 teaspoons water

 

 


DIRECTIONS:

 

In a small saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender.

Stir in apple jelly and brown sugar; add sausage links.

Cook, uncovered, over medium-low heat for 15 to 20 minutes or until thickened,

stirring occasionally.

Add apple.

 

Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until apples are tender.

 

Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into saucepan.

Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1 minute or until thickened.

 

Serve warm.

Barbecue  Chicken  Bites

 

 

 

 

INGREDIENTS:

1 egg

2 tablespoons milk

4 cups barbecue potato chips, crushed

1/2 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes

Barbecue sauce

 

 

 

DIRECTIONS:

 

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

 

In a shallow bowl, whisk egg and milk.

 

Place potato chips in another shallow bowl.

 

Dip chicken in egg mixture, then roll in chips.

 

Place in a single layer on a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until juices run clear.

 

Serve with barbecue sauce.

Barbecue  Chicken  Wings

 

 

 

 

INGREDIENTS:
 

3 pounds whole chicken wings

2 cups ketchup

1/2 cup honey

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon paprika

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 1/2 teaspoons curry powder

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

 

 

 

DIRECTIONS:

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

 

Cut chicken wings into three sections; discard wing tips.

 

Place wings in a greased 15 inch x 10 inch x 1 inch baking pan.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until juices run clear.

 

In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients.

 

 

IN A SLOW COOKER

 

Pour 1/2 cup into a 3 quart slow cooker.

 

Drain chicken wings; add to slow cooker.

Drizzle with remaining sauce.

Cover and cook on low for 1 hour, basting occasionally.
